00:45

00:52

Over and out.

00:55

Welcome to the Legally Speaking podcast, recording live at Legal Tech Talk.

01:00

We have a returning guest, name, title and organization.

01:04

Hi, Rob.

01:04

It’s Mia.

01:06

It’s Mia, back again.

01:07

And it’s good to have you with us.

01:09

Tell us about Mia.

01:10

What have you been getting up to since we last had you on the show?

01:14

I’ve been spreading the word of Legal Design Summit, and my latest epiphany is that it’s such a neutral space because it is nonprofit, that it’sIt’s a space where people can actually meet as individuals, so they don’t have to represent anyone or anything, which creates a whole other space for connection.

01:36

So when I’m meeting people, I’m like, whoa, this is a brilliant mind that I would really have to want to have in Helsinki.

01:46

I’m not selling them tickets because the tickets are free so that everyone can travel.

01:51

It’s already expensive to travel.

01:53

So then I’m like, Hey, you beautiful individual, beautiful soul, I would love to have your magic to the community that is going to be gathered in Helsinki in September.

02:05

only because you are who you are, we want you to be there, and I want other individuals to meet you.

02:10

Oh, that’s very kind of you.

02:12

And for people, you’re an expert on legal design, and you did a really good analogy when we were speaking before of like, what’s the difference between legal tech?

02:18

Obviously, we’re at the largest European legal tech conference and legal design.

02:22

They’re intertwined, and I think legal design and legal tech are two sub-themes of legal innovation and legal transformation, and the design hugsthe whole tech, I think I said this last time as well.

02:38

And the more we can come from iterative mindsets, the more we can come from meeting human to human, and the more we can come from knowing ourselves and navigating our inner worlds.

02:50

the better we can meet in legal tech, the better we can adopt different tools and create collaboration and co-creation.

02:57

Absolutely, and collaboration is domination.

03:00

You’ve had a session here at Legal Tech Talk, I think you did last year as well, but what’s your one been on this year and tell us about your session.

03:07

So I was talking in a panel about legal innovators mindset.

03:12

So we were talking about thedeeper meaning of what innovation and mindset is and the definitions of them.

03:21

It was a very philosophical panel, I think, less practical.

03:28

We jumped into the mindset part and really thought about collaboration and alsoMindset is the lens through which you see the world, right?

03:42

And if you don’t know yourself, how can you recognize your mindset?

03:46

And we’re all talking about mindset here in the conference, but a lot of people could benefit from sitting with themselves as well and asking questions like,Who am I?

04:00

And what do I want to do?

04:02

And like, what are my interests?

04:04

What are my behavioral patterns?

04:06

What are my thought patterns?

04:08

How do I navigate in this or that situation?

04:12

That’s an inner dialogue.

04:13

And I think inner dialogue is needed when you use tools like AI, because that’s what it’s actually about.

04:20

If you’re chatting with AI, it’s a dialogue.

04:22

And the better you’re at your inner dialogue, the more you have space within yourself.

04:26

the better you can navigate with the AI.

04:28

Love it.

04:29

I love how you always be able to articulate all these things so well.

04:32

Okay, you were here last year.

04:33

Fast forward this year.

04:35

What surprised you most about Legal Tech Talk 2025?

04:38

I see Bradley had decided not to have any keynotes, so mostly there’s been only panels.

04:45

I did not know that, but it was a surprising element.

04:48

And the more I sat and sit down, listening to the panels, I really wanted to give my time to the people’s knowledge this time.

04:57

If you choose your battle, you can network a lot and then you miss all the sessions.

05:02

But I chose to sit as much as possible with my iPad and drawing all the notes and being creative in the front row, listening to people’s beautiful knowledge.

05:13

And I think I said this one last time as well, it’s jamming.

05:17

And now today the jamming came into being because we had people sitting.

05:23

Of course, they’ve done their preparation sessions, but they create something in the moment.

05:29

And if you really focus, you sit down and you really listen,It’s a very beautiful orchestra that is happening there.

05:37

And those people are also having fun in the moment.

05:40

So it’s a co-creation.

05:42

Yeah.

05:43

And I think…

05:44

that they have chosen to emphasize that this year through panels is brilliant.

05:50

And I’ve had nothing but positive feedback, and I think the panels have been great, and we’ve had people coming off talking about your panel, how much they enjoyed it.

05:56

They’ve been around the table here.

05:58

Let’s talk about the Legal Design Summit then before we close.

06:00

Where can people find out more, or if they would like to get involved in any capacity, what do they need to do?

06:07

You can find the tickets from the LegalDesignSummit.com.

06:12

Take your ticket.

06:13

That’s free for everyone.

06:16

And then we’re in LinkedIn.

06:18

We post a lot.

06:19

And we really want to create a space where it’s easy to navigate so that you can learn to Helsinki in the best way possible.

06:27

So we provide a lot of support and information in advance so that you can plan your adventure to the Nordics.

06:36

And on last note, I really want to say what I was surprised about is the resetroom here at the summit.

06:43

I live for mindfulness and spiritual awareness and groundedness.

06:50

And I can say that room, like, I want to have a recent room in every conference I go to.

06:57

I did a one hour hypnotherapy session, landed fully fully, and after that went to the panel session.

07:04

This is a very holisticconference and I really like raise my hat for that.

07:10

Well said and it’s been a pleasure having you back on the show doing this.

07:13

Wishing you lots of continued success with everything you’re doing and indeed the Legal Design Summit for now from all of us, over and out.

07:19

And that’s a wrap for our Legal Tech Talk Uncovered miniseries 2025.

07:24

From our Legally on the Move series earlier in the year in Dubai and Ibiza to the buzzing halls of London, this year’s journey has been nothing short of electric.

07:33

Over 20 plus episodes were recorded atLegal Tech Talk live.

07:37

We roamed the floor with our signature red mites, sat down with innovators, disruptors, and future shapers, dug into AI, access to justice, pricing, leadership, culture, and what law could and should look like by 2030.

07:53

We heard from GCs, law firm founders, technologists, academics, students, and even industry leaders, all united in one thing, a belief that the future of law is something we can build together.

08:06

Huge thank you to the Legal Tech Talk team for having us back as a proud returning media partner, and to our sponsor, Clio, for empowering the conversations that matter.

08:16

And the journey doesn’t stop here.

08:18

Next up, we’re taking the red mics to Clio Con in Boston later in the year for our next mini-series.

08:24

Plus, keep your eyes and ears open.

08:26

We’ve got more pop-up content planned to surprise and delight you alongside our weekly shows, because innovation doesn’t happen in a conference hall, it happens when the ideas leave the room.

08:37

So here’s my challenge to you, the legal community.

08:40

What’s one change you’ll make after hearing these stories today?

08:44

Until next time, keep inspiring legal minds and transforming legal futures.

08:49

Over and out.
